Case study · Manufacturing
From MES data to actionon an AGV-paced assembly line.
An MES vendor builds a digital production system for discrete manufacturers. Neuclon worked with the vendor as an extension partner: we brought its MES data into Neuclon for AI-driven analytics, then fed decisions back through the vendor's own platform to act on equipment, for a fast-paced manufacturer whose production moves on AGVs.

The challenge
When the line moves on AGVs, minutes and missing parts decide takt.
In an AGV-paced flow, assembly moves to the next station on a fixed rhythm. There is no buffer to hide a problem in. If a kit is short, a part is late or a station runs over its time, the delay travels down the line and takt is missed.
The MES already captured what was happening on the floor: orders, stations, cycle times and material. The opportunity was to look ahead, predicting where time or inventory would run short, and act before the AGV arrived, without waiting for someone to notice on a screen.
What Neuclon built
An AI layer on top of the MES, closing the loop back to the floor.
- Integrated the MES data into Neuclon: production orders, station status, cycle times, takt and material availability.
- Modeled the flow in Neuclon's semantic layer, so stations, orders, parts and time could be analyzed together.
- Ran AI-driven analytics to flag takt risk early: stations trending over time and parts at risk of not being there when needed.
- Applied business rules so only the right situations raise an action, with clear limits on what can happen automatically.
- Fed decisions back through the vendor's integration platform to act on equipment and alert the people who needed to respond.

Why it matters
Intelligence added to the MES you already run.
The manufacturer didn't replace anything. The MES stayed the system of record for production, and Neuclon added the layer that looks ahead and decides what should happen next. That is the extension-partner model: Neuclon makes an existing MES smarter instead of competing with it.
The same pattern works wherever time and material set the pace: connect the MES, model the flow, predict the risk and close the loop to the equipment and the people who act on it.
